Cub 70 1970-71 Honda C70M (also called C70MK0 or CM70). Like the early cub, this model did not significantly look any different. Three colors were offered with a white leg guard/cowling: Aquarius blue, Bright red, and Pine green. The fuel tank emblem read "HONDA 70" The seat was long (for two riders) and even had rear passenger footpegs. It had an electric start and the large tail light common to other Hondas of the '70s. The engine was a 72cc OHC single cylinder. It had a 3-speed transmission with an automatic clutch. The serial number began C70M-017962.

Cub 70 1972-73 Honda C70K1 (also called C70MK1). Like the early cub, this model did not significantly look any different. Two colors were offered with the white leg guard/cowling: Strato Blue Metallic and Poppy Yellow Metallic. The fuel tank emblem read "HONDA 70" The seat was short and had a luggage rack over the rear wheel. It had an electric start and the large tail light common to other Hondas of the '70s. J=Japan H=Honda C=1982 S=Suzuka factory). The yellow color was dropped leaving two colors with the white leg guard/cowling: Angel Blue and Monza Red. The long seat was black and white. A basket and rack were mounted above the front fender and a short luggage rack was mounted behind the seat. A "PASSPORT" logo appeared on the fuel tank. It now had a 12-volt system unlike the previous models. The ignition now used a CD ignition instead of breaker points. It also had an electric start. The engine was a 72cc OHC single cylinder. It had a 3-speed transmission with an automatic clutch. The cowling and side cover were redesigned slightly.
